This vintage Oregon myrtlewood pedestal compote was hand-turned from wood that grows commercially only along the southern Oregon coast — and it still bears the original gold foil label from the Seagull Gift Shop in Depoe Bay, Oregon. The shallow footed bowl shows rich, swirling grain figure with warm honey-to-chocolate tones and a glossy finish that lets the wood do the talking. Perfect as a catchall, jewelry dish, fruit stand, or shelf piece — and a must for myrtlewood collectors, who prize examples with original shop labels.
