There are brooches you wear. And then there are brooches that stop people mid-conversation. This is the second kind. A butterfly rendered in 14K yellow gold, its wings inlaid with deeply saturated black onyx — smooth, glassy, and utterly without flaw. The body is a masterwork in miniature: a coiled gold abdomen, segmented and richly textured, rising to a white gold bezel at the thorax that holds a single natural diamond. Above it, a pair of delicate curled antennae complete the illusion of arrested flight. The design is graphic and bold in its black-and-gold contrast, yet the execution is fine and considered — this is not a costume piece but a fine piece of jewelry. At approximately 30mm wing to wing, it wears with presence without demanding attention it hasn't earned. Hallmarked 585 and 14K. Pin stem and C-catch are fully functional. Condition is excellent — onyx intact, gold lustrous, diamond bright and secure. A piece like this doesn't come around often. When it does, it goes quickly.
