Vintage dial indicator thickness gauge made by Randall & Stickney, Waltham, Massachusetts. Cast iron C-frame stand with circular base and adjustable circular anvil plate. White dial face with black numerals, dual needle display showing main dial and sub-dial. Graduations in 1/1000 inch. Thumb lever for lifting the spindle. Serial number 24320 stamped on bottom of base. Patent date August 21, 1883. Condition: pre-owned, good condition with the following noted flaws. Glass face is cracked. Surface rust on the base and anvil. Paint chipping on the cast iron stand. Metal construction throughout. A working piece of American measuring instrument history with clear maker markings and a readable patent date.
