Striking vintage sterling silver butterfly pendant featuring intricate mosaic inlay in warm orange and coral-toned spiny oyster shell. The butterfly is beautifully constructed with individually cut and fitted pieces throughout the wings, body, and curved antennae, creating a bold Southwestern statement piece. The reverse is hallmarked “KS Sterling.” This hallmark is documented as one used by renowned Navajo silversmith Kirk Smith, and similar KS-marked spiny oyster butterfly pieces have been attributed to his work.
