Entering the resale market is not a random, spur of the moment decision. You don’t stop at looking for the best things to flip for profit. You also try to find a platform that fits your selling style and personality. It’s sensible to ask how to sell on [**Poshmark**](https://poshmark.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooPou9v0KuaJtuu2EAp01lScH5Io4LhFoXBJBfS41jjUbpXX_Wb&ref=sellraze.ghost.io) in 2026. You’d want to sell on a trusted platform where most have found success in selling, and maybe, copy some of their marketing strategies.

If you’re someone who enjoys social engagement along with selling secondhand items, then Poshmark’s a great platform to start with. It operates on a social selling model (think: Instagram or TikTok) but without the other stuff you see on social media. You can follow and like other Poshers’ closets and comment on their listings.

Are you just starting on your resale journey, or someone who wants to widen your reach? This guide walks you through everything Posh—from account setup to getting your first sale.

Tip: Include the brand name especially if you’re selling [**BOLO brands**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/what-are-bolo-brands-explaining-the-hype-behind-these-hot-items?ref=sellraze.ghost.io). ## Step 4: Price It Right

![How to sell on Poshmark-concept image for Poshmark pricing](https://storage.ghost.io/c/e9/2c/e92c0268-0a3c-45b5-8c3a-b81ee6ef33fd/content/images/2026/03/top-view-black-calculator-female-hands-black-table-free-space.jpg)

Successful pricing in Poshmark depends on your mastery of its fee structure—how much is Poshmark’s commission per item, how high-value items are priced, and what the fixed fees per item are.

Also, researching the sell-through rate of similar items can give you an idea of how to price an item. Consider also the cost of the item, shipping (especially if you are offering free shipping).

_**Pro tip**:_ Check the number of sold listings per item. For example, compare the active listings for a Hoka running shorts versus the number of sold items in a span of let’s say 90 days. If the number of items sold is equal to the number of items listed, then the item sells fast. You can then price it slightly lower than other sellers. This way, you’ll attract more buyers.

Also, remember to set a price that allows you to have a good profit margin even if you negotiate with a buyer. Prices on Poshmark are generally not fixed, so it’s rare not to encounter haggling.

Sew Quaint for Youtube offers a formula for pricing items in general, not just resale, [**in this video.**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NMvomYUnL4&t=546s&ref=sellraze.ghost.io)

## Step 5: Poshmark Shipping

Poshmark shipping includes a prepaid shipping label you’ll receive from Poshmark once a sale is complete. You’ll use this shipping label to pack your item. These shipping labels can be printed on adhesive paper for the best results. You, the seller, are responsible for packing the item. Choose the mailer or box that fits the item you’re shipping accordingly. This included providing the bubble wrapping, packing peanuts, or paper fillers.

As for the shipping fee, Poshmark charges a flat rate of $7.97. The buyers shoulder the shipping fee, but you can also provide free or discounted shipping.

USPS and Canada Post provide shipping services for US and Canada, with the default prepaid shipping label being USPS Priority Mail. You can also opt for Priority Flat Rate and Priority Regional rate boxes and mailer packages.

**Pro tips:**

1. Factor in the shipping fee in your listing price to attract customers

2. Use free boxes from USPS stores to ship your orders. Repurposing old shipping boxes works well, too, as long as they are stripped of the old labels.

## Step 6: How to Sell on Poshmark and Get Paid

![How to sell on Poshmark: Concept image on getting paid on Poshmark](https://storage.ghost.io/c/e9/2c/e92c0268-0a3c-45b5-8c3a-b81ee6ef33fd/content/images/2026/03/laptop-smartphone-money-male-hands-close-up-1.jpg)

When a buyer likes one (or more) items from your closet, they will make an **offer.**Poshmark prices are not fixed, so there will be some degree of haggling between you and the buyer. You have the choice whether to **accept, counter**or **decline**a buyer’s offer. Offers last for 24 hours before they expire.

Accepting an offer will process the order immediately, and soon you’ll be paid. Poshmark gives you several choices from which to get your payout.

- The first one is**Poshmark Balance.**Once a buyer confirms receipt of an order from you (and with no disputes whatsoever), The Poshmark escrow system releases your payout into your Poshmark Balance. You can now use your Poshmark balance to buy from other Poshers.
- Other options include: **direct deposit to your bank account,**
- **via check,**
- **instant transfer to a debit card linked to Poshmark**
- **Paypal, and**
- **Venmo**.

Seller payout is usually processed within 2-3 business days.

## Tips for Selling Faster on Poshmark

Now you already know how to sell on Poshmark, the next step is to make fast, consistent sales. Selling on Poshmark may feel different when you’re used to just listing and waiting for a sale. For some Gen-Z and younger Millennial sellers, however, Poshmark’s social selling model is an advantage. First we’ll break down what a Poshmark Closet is, then we’ll discuss tips and tricks to get your sales going.

### Decoding the Poshmark Closet

Your closet is your online storefront. Once you make your account and your first listing, you automatically create your own closet.

Curating your Poshmark Closet with carefully selected items, well-taken photos, and accurate item and brand descriptions is one way of making it aesthetically pleasing-much like organizing Instagram posts.

### Tips and tricks for faster Poshmark selling

- **Share listings daily:**By sharing, we don’t just mean sharing your listings only or your closet link. You also have to [share other Poshers’ listings](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/a-guide-to-sharing-on-poshmark?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) as well and their closet links. This is a way to build community rapport and engagement. Daily listings also push you up to the “Just Shared” algorithm. Relist your old items too and refresh the listing title and descriptions.
- **Price for promotion first, profits later:** As a new seller, your aim is to be seen by other Poshers. Set your profit target well so that you can still gain sales without losing too much profit.
- **Bundle items for more efficient profit:** Rather than selling low-priced items individually, bundle them so you can save on Poshmark’s commission fees.
- **Explore Poshmark SEO:** Learn what keywords pop up in searches and include them in your listing titles and descriptions.
- **Take advantage of trends and seasons:** List items that are trending. Also, list down seasonal items a month or two before the season rolls in. For example, start listing spring dresses two months before winter ends, to get ahead of competitors.
- **Engage with followers and buyers:**Reply to comments on your listings, answer messages offering for an item, and like their replies, if applicable.

## Poshmark Fees

You can confidently say you know how to sell on Poshmark if you know how to calculate your earnings. Poshmark fees are pretty straightforward compared to eBay and other reselling websites. Items priced below $15 are deducted a flat commission of $2.95. For items priced $15 and above, Poshmark gets a higher cut—20% of the exact sale price. It’s a bit higher than other reselling websites, to be honest.

Here’s a table comparing a $10 sale, one that sells for $50, and another for $100.

| Sale Price | Poshmark Fee (deducted from the sale price) | Seller Earnings | Explanation |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| $10 skirt | $2.95 | $7.05 | Flat fee of $2.95 for sales under $15 |
| $50 jacket | $10 | $40 | 20% commission on sales $15 and above |
| $100 bag | $20.00 | $80.00 | 20% commission on sales $15 and above |

Sellers can earn more on higher-priced items, compared to selling lower-priced items below $15 that have a flat fee of $2.95 each. See our computation below, comparing selling ten $10 items to selling one $100 item.

| Scenario | Sale Price | Number of Items | Total Sales | Total Fees | Total Earnings | What Does This Mean? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Sell cheap items | $10 | 10 | $100 | $29.50 | $70.50 | Lower earnings |
| Sell one expensive item | $100 | 1 | $100 | $20.00 | $80.00 | Higher earnings |

In this case, we highly recommend bundling together lower-priced items. The choice of what to sell is yours, as resellers have a variety of items in their inventory. Not everyone has a high-value item to sell, unless you specialize in luxury items.

That’s it—learning how to sell on Poshmark need not be overwhelming. Even beginners in reselling websites can manage its easy-to-use listing methods. Poshmark fees are also within the range compared to other websites like Poshmark, e.g., Depop, thredUp, and others. Poshmark shipping is pretty solid, too, with [buyer and seller protections](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/buyer-protection-on-depop-mercari-and-poshmark-what-you-need-to-know?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) in place for all transactions.

So if you’re looking where to sell clothes online, from your closet or from others’ secondhand treasures, Poshmark can be a good place to start.
