## How Poshmark Works for Sellers

Poshmark’s selling process is pretty straightforward. You can choose to register for an account using email, Google, Facebook, or Apple. Follow the steps to create your seller profile and undergo verification (you may need a valid, government-issued ID for this part).

### Listing items in Your Closet

You can now start**listing items in your Closet** (Poshmark’s version of a digital storefront). When listing, you have the option to create them via the app or through the website.

### Creating listings with the App

1. Tap the Sell button in the middle bottom of the app (with the camera icon)
2. You’ll be prompted to upload or take a photo of the item. For each listing, the maximum number of photos you can upload is 16. **Tip:** Don’t be afraid to use up all 16 allowed photos! It will help you provide a similar to a 360-degree view of the item for potential buyers.
3. Write the listing title and description. Make it as detailed as possible
4. Set a price. This price is usually not fixed, and buyers send offers which you can accept, decline, or counter.
5. Tap Next, then choose to share to your Poshmark followers, then tap “List”.
6. You may edit your listing anytime.

### Listing on the Web

1. Log in to your Poshmark account.
2. Click “Sell on Poshmark” at the top right corner.
3. Drag and drop photos from your computer into the upload photo box (the one with a dotted outline) or click the grey “Upload Photos” button.
4. Fill in the description, price, size, and other fields.
5. Click the “Next” button to generate your listing.

After making a sale, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label in your email, with your buyer’s address from Poshmark. You’ll use this shipping label for the order, but you’ll be the one to pack it up (unlike consignment platforms like thredUp in which you ship your items to them and they pack and send them up once it’s sold).

Shipping fee in Poshmark uses a flat rate of $7.97, which is paid by the buyer. For the courier, USPS and Canada Post provide shipping services. The default prepaid shipping label is USPS Priority Mail, but you can also choose Priority Flat Rate and Priority Regional rate boxes and mailer envelopes.

Shipping labels can be printed on adhesive paper. For parcels heavier than 5lbs, you can request to upgrade your shipping label via the app. When shipping, you can use free boxes from USPS stores, or any other box (even used shipping boxes stripped off of the previous labels will do). Pack your items accordingly. Lightweight items may just need a layer of tissue and paper shreds, while other fragile items need bubble wrapping and other padding to keep items secure inside the package. Drop off your packages at any USPS store and it will usually arrive in 1-3 days.
