It's no wonder why sellers are getting curious about how to sell on Vinted.

And if you’re one of the sellers who would like to try selling on Vinted, this guide walks you through everything. From account setup to getting your first payout, we have laid it out, step by step.

## Step 1: Create Your Account

Download the Vinted app either from[**App Store**](https://apps.apple.com/ee/app/vinted-shop-sell-pre-loved/id632064380?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) or Google Play. You can also sign in on [**vinted.com**](http://vinted.com/?ref=sellraze.ghost.io)

Creating your account is very similar to [**apps like Depop**](https://sellraze.com/blog/7-apps-like-depop-for-reselling?ref=sellraze.ghost.io)—you typically have the option to sign-up from Google, Facebook, Apple, and email. Vinted users must be 18 and above to buy and sell; Vinted verifies age upon account creation and bans accounts with unverified ages. However, for younger entrepreneurs, they can use an adult/guardian’s account with supervision.

### Signing Up Via Google, Facebook and Apple

1. Click Sign-up via Google/Facebook/Apple.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

**Note:** When signing using Apple ID, use it consistently as the sign-up method. Not doing so may cause issues with password resetting and emails. [**Read how to troubleshoot here**](https://www.vinted.ie/help/3/1630-if-you-signed-up-with-apple-id?ref=sellraze.ghost.io)**.**

### Signing up Via Email In the App/Web

Sign-ups through the methods above are quick since you already have an account and your Google/Facebook/Apple profile information will be automatically used by Vinted to set your account. If you choose to sign via email for some reasons, here are the steps:

- Click **Sign up with email**.
- Enter the **username**you want for the account.
- Enter the **email address** you’re using for Vinted.
- Set up a **password**.
- Input your **zip code**.
- Tick or untick the “I’d like to receive personalized offers and be the first to know about updates to Vinted via email”
- Agree to the **Terms and Conditions** and **Privacy Policy** by ticking the box.
- Click**Sign-up**

It is recommended to **complete your email verification within seven days**; otherwise you cannot buy or list items. You can have a complete profile setup, but without email verification, you’ll have a **restricted account**. Email verification is a precautionary step when you get locked out of your account, and a way for you to receive promos and updates from Vinted.

**Tip:**Read the **Terms of Conditions**and **Privacy Policy**before finishing the sign-up process.

## Step 2: Set up Your Vinted Profile

After signing-up, you’ll be redirected to complete your profile. You need to provide the following:

- **Photo:**Adding a clear profile picture or a logo of your business helps with buyer trust.
- **Personal information:** Fill in your full name, gender and birthdate. You’ll find this in **Settings**.
- **Phone number:** Aside from email verification, phone number verification adds an extra layer of security.
- **Bio**: A short but sweet bio that tells about you and what you sell serves as your personal introduction to other Vinted users.

You also need to provide other profile information (accessible through **Settings**) such as the following:

- **Shipping address:** Both buyers and sellers need to provide this information. Seller’s address is used to calculate shipping costs both for shipping to the buyer and returns.
- **Payout options:** Link a bank account for this part.

Completing your profile helps buyers verify your legitimacy. More than the likes and followers, a complete profile lets them know that you are not a dummy account.

## Step 3: List Your First Item on Vinted

_How to Sell on Vinted: Taking Photos_

One of the important things when learning how to sell on Vinted is the listing process. It’s pretty straightforward, though. Here are the steps:

1. **Upload photos of the item.** Before taking photos, especially of clothing, make sure they are clean, ironed and hung on a hanger or mannequin. You can also wear it to show how it falls naturally on a person. A clean background, good lighting preferably in natural daylight with no flash or filters makes for good photos. Take photos of the brand and the flaws. Some items need close-ups of the logo or hardware.
2. **Write a title and a detailed description.**The more detailed your descriptions are, the more they could possibly sell faster as buyers can find them easily. We recommend writing a description including the following:

- Fit
- Measurements
- Material
- Repairs/alterations
- Flaws, if any

1. **Choose a category for your item (may include brand, if any).**Vinted is popular for secondhand clothing, but other items such as shoes and accessories, books, toys, and home items can be sold there too. Categorizing your listing properly will help buyers find your listing faster.
2. **Select item condition.**Vinted is a secondhand resale platform—it’s expected that most items aren’t brand-new, technically even those [**NWT**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/blog-nwt-meaning-reselling?ref=sellraze.ghost.io)or NWOT items. Vinted lets you choose item condition from the following:

- New
- Like new
- Very good
- Good
- Satisfactory
- Needs repair (for electronics only)

1. **Indicate a price for your listing.**Pricing your listings can be tricky if you’re randomly pulling numbers from the air and hoping it gets sold for that price. We recommend checking the price of the sold listings, checking an item’s [**sell-through rate**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/sell-through-rate-str-in-reselling-resell-terms-explained-2026?ref=sellraze.ghost.io), and setting up a high, mid or lowest price.
2. **Choose the parcel size for your item.**Start by folding your item to the smallest dimensions without damaging them, then measure length, width and height. If the item cannot be folded or disassembled, measure it directly. Pick the packaging that fits your item snugly.

## Step 4: Price it Right on Vinted

![How to sell on Vinted: Deciding on a Price](https://storage.ghost.io/c/e9/2c/e92c0268-0a3c-45b5-8c3a-b81ee6ef33fd/content/images/2026/04/notebook-mockup.jpg)

_[Image by rawpixel.com on Freepik](https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/notebook-mockup_3218170.htm?ref=sellraze.ghost.io#fromView=search&page=1&position=13&uuid=3017ffaf-63eb-4762-a1d0-a2798b13537f&query=pricing)_

Pricing need not be hit or miss, but it’s also not the same for all sellers, even on the same platform. We found these best practices to help you along with your pricing:

- **Don’t price it too high.** If you find an active listing of a jacket that sells up to $300 (when its brand -new price is just $150 or less), don’t assume you can flip it for the same high price. Instead, find the average price and start from there.
- **Use a profit margin calculator.** This helps you see the numbers and prevents you from pricing randomly.
- **Factor in packaging in your item price.** Vinted encourages using recycled packaging to ship orders, but if you can’t get a hold of old boxes or used mailer envelopes, you’ll have to buy new packaging. Include it in your item price, even if the only thing you buy new is packaging tape. Don’t forget your labor expenses, too.
- **Find the average price of similar listings**. Find the price of the 10 to 15 last sold items similar to your listing. Using the **Lululemon trouser** example we have in [**this article**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/how-to-sell-on-whatnot?ref=sellraze.ghost.io), with the **average price of $50,** we can price this way:

$45- quick sale price

$50- average price

$55- highest price

## Step 5: Shipping on Vinted

**Shipping is buyer-paid**on Vinted. You need not worry about factoring in shipping to the listing price. Since Vinted is an international platform, different couriers are available for each country with a corresponding shipping fee. Buyers can see the shipping fee total upon checkout. For US sellers and buyers, orders are shipped via **USPS**, [**Better Trucks**](https://www.bettertrucks.com/?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) and **SpeedX**. A prepaid shipping label is provided by Vinted to the seller after an order is made.

Certain items are eligible for **custom shipping**but in some categories only. This option lets sellers look for other couriers on their own for items that are too heavy or too big to ship with Vinted’s partner couriers. If you get to choose this option, you’ll receive not only the payment for the item but also the shipping fee.

Additional shipping information:

- The**seller offers several shipping options** and the buyer chooses one.
- Items must be shipped within **five business day**s; this can be extended by adding 3-5 business days; otherwise, it will be automatically cancelled.
- Cancelled orders will be issued a **refund**.

## Step 6: Get Paid Selling on Vinted

It’s recommended that you fill in payment and shipping information the moment your Vinted account is created, so you’re ready to receive payments. Once an order is completed from the buyer’s end, you’ll receive the amount in your **Vinted Balance.**

Your Vinted Balance can be used to buy items from other Vinted sellers, or transferred to your linked bank account. Unlike other platform wallets, Vinted Balance cannot be topped up; only your earnings through sales are credited to it. Earning withdrawals have a **minimum of $0.10**and may take up to **five days** before reaching your account.

## Tips for Selling Faster on Vinted

We’ve tapped into the real-world experiences of Vinted sellers and came up with their best practices to sell faster on Vinted.

- **Visuals are everything:**Borrowing from a [**user’s tip on Reddit**](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1r739r2/selling_tip_visuals_are_everything/?ref=sellraze.ghost.io), having good photos is not enough. Hanging them properly and putting them in a mannequin helps. This is the number one tip sellers swear by.
- **Consistency works:** Almost all resale platforms and apps like Poshmark value [**consistency.**](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1rr3dk5/comment/oa2th4j/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) It covers all, from listing to replying to offers and shipping.
- **Price reasonably:** [**Price generally lower**](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1rr3dk5/comment/o9wswmb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) than the brand-new price. This also makes sense for better business since buyers already pay for shipping.
- **Package items well:** This step builds buyer trust a lot. Make sure your item is safe from possible damage on the way to the buyer. [**Recycled packaging**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/blog-recycled-packaging-reselling-guide?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) is ideal but pack with intention and make it neat.
- **Take packaging videos:**A [**Vinted seller on Reddit**](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1s7iet2/comment/od9wf0m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)recommends making a packaging video to show buyers you are packing the right order. This also protects you from any untoward claims and scams.

## How to Start Selling on Vinted: Vinted Fees

It takes zero to list and sell in Vinted, and its strongest selling point among reselling [**apps like Poshmark.**](https://www.sellraze.com/blog/7-apps-like-poshmark-for-reselling-in-2026?ref=sellraze.ghost.io) While these platforms can get a hefty seller commission like Poshmark’s 20% fee, Vinted lets you keep 100% of the sale price, credited to your Vinted Balance.

If you want to make your listings more visible, though, you can always avail of Vinted’s item bumping services. This helps listings become more visible and run for three days or up to 7 days. Bump fees differ in amount for each listing and will only be shown once you order a Bump.

For buyers, they need to cover the buyer protection fee of 5% of the sale price plus a flat $0.70 fee.

Let’s take a $50 sale from the seller and buyer’s perspective within the US.

### **For the Seller**

| Item Price | Vinted Fees | Shipping Paid By | Seller Take-Home |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| $50 | $0 | Buyer | $50 |

### **For the Buyer**

Buyer Protection Fee = **5% of item price + $0.70**

- 5% of $50 = **$2.50**
- Add fixed fee: **$2.50 + $0.70 = $3.20**

| Item Price | Buyer Protection Fee | Shipping Fee | Total Buyer Pays |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| $50 | $3.20 | Varies | $53.20 + shipping |

As a seller, you’ll be making more when you sell clothes online on Vinted.

**Note:**Vinted isn’t an ideal platform; you will eventually run into issues along the way. However, thanks to its clean UX and UI, zero fees and integrated shipping options, this platform is a great way to start your resale business. All of this information should help you to start selling on Vinted. This Vinted selling guide works for a totally new online seller or a veteran thriftflipper looking for a new platform.
